This folder consists of the "L" Correspondence (1930-1931) of Wilfrid Parsons, S.J., Editor of America Magazine. Items of interest include: letter (Feb. 5, 1930) concerns the formation of the Liturgical Arts Society and a statement of its precepts; letter (Mar. 27/Mar. 13, 1931) from a priest in Rome to Father Parsons criticizes American newspapers asserting bias as the reason for neglecting Catholic pulpit oratory [i.e., sermons/homilies] in their publications; Father Parsons responds, transferring blame from the publishers to the priests themselves; letter (Nov. 27/Nov. 17, 1931) speaks of the establishment of the Catholic Evidence Guild and its plans; letter (Dec. 18, 1931) provides partial bibliography of published books and America Magazine articles on Pope Benedict XV; letter (Dec. 26, 1931) and attachments pertain to political affairs in Mexico; letter (no date) provides descriptive information concerning Catholics in California.
