Container Summary

This folder contains "B" Correspondence (1932-1933) of Wilfrid Parsons, S.J., Editor of America Magazine (1925-1936). Of interest is a letter (Jan. 19, 1932) from a nun condemning the publication of a particular nun's diary. There are a couple of letters (Oct. 6/ Oct. 12, 1933) which provide information about New York based Communist publications, literature and alleged Communist organizations. Another letter (Nov. 9, 1933) alludes to an attached newspaper article concerning the report of a speech made by (NRA) National Recovery Administrator Hugh S. Johnson in Minneapolis in efforts to weaken opposition to the NRA in the Northwest. A letter (Nov. 14, 1933) from a St. Francis Seminary (Wisconsin) English professor renders comments upon his eyewitness account of Europe's preparedness for war.
