Vercors. Typed Latter Signed to "Miss Walker," 1 page. Dated 8/15/1977. Answering her questions about his likes and dislikes. Among his likes are Shakespeare, Moliere, Victor Hugo, Joseph Conrad, Chaplin, Fellini, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Piero della Francesca, Praxiteles, Donatello, Bach, Schubert. The places he likes are St. Charles Bridge in Prague; the Piazza Navona in Rome; the canals of Leningrad, Amsterdam, and Venice; the Stradun in Dubrovnik, the South Gate in Peking; Hanoi; the shores of Baikal in winter; Manhattan at night, the Parthenon; the basilica of Vezelay; Paris; and London. He dislikes modern music without notes, tachist or random paintings, inarticulate theatre, and high-rise buildings. Gift of Joseph E. and Jeannine Jeffs, 2004.
