6 ALS from A. Adgate "Ad" Duer written to Margaret "Madge" Lewis Marshall. Letters are written from Baltimore, Davenport, and Pennsylvania. In letter dated 4/2/1871, Ad writes, "First of all, I have written home just how we stand - what Mrs. Barton has done, saying I would see you on my return - that means dear Madge, asking you formally to be Mrs. A. Adgate Duer." Reference to Mr. Geo. Gould of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. 1 ALS from Duer to Mrs. Barton thanking her for all she has done for the two of them.
