Byrnes, Director of the Office of War Mobilization, to Lucius Clay appointing Clay as Deputy Director of the Office of War Mobilization and Reconversion. 1 ALS dated 1/2/1945 from Byrnes to Clay thanking him. 1 TLS dated 1/22/1945 from Byrnes to Clay authorizing Clay to serve as Acting Director of the Office of War Mobilization and Reconversion in Byrnes' absence. 1 ALS dated 2/4/1945 from Byrnes to Clay asking Clay to advise him on matters while Byrnes attended Yalta Conference from 2/4/1945 to 2/11/1945.
