Contains 39 small sheets of paper containing questions about Clay's experiences as military governor of Germany drawn from Clay's papers. On each sheet, Smith typed questions for Clay to answer. Clay wrote answers by hand in pencil. Clay clarified many of Smith's questions about key events and people in this manner. References include Henry Morgenthau, Jr., Lewis Douglas, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John J. McCloy, Paul Birdsall, Edward C. Betts, William H. Draper, Jr., Wade H. Haslip, Bernard Bernstein, Clarence L. Adcock, Sam Kramer, Ernest A.
