1 ALS in French from Jan Philip Roothaan, S.J. in Rome to Albert Roothaan acknowledging the receipt of a letter for Msgr. Groof (not included), thanking Albert for flowers he sent from Holland for Jan Philip's garden, congratulating Albert on a visit from the King of Holland to his home to view paintings, asking if a similar visit was held by the Archduke Maximilian d'Este with his nephew the heir of the Duchy of Modena, and stating that the church has done well under the benefaction of this family in Austria. "Je vous felicite de la visite du Roi chez vous pour voir vos peintures!- N'avez-vous pas eu aussi, il y a quelques annees, une visite de l'Archduc Maximilian d'Este avec son neveu le Prince Hereditaire du Duc de Modene? Cette derniere Famille est tres amie et benefaitrice de la Cie. L'Archduc Maximilian a fait beaucoup pour nous en Austriche."
