1 ALS in French from Jan Philip Roothaan, S.J. in Rome to Albert Roothaan, discussing the mails, a letter to Prof. David van Lennep, and a cholera epidemic in Rome which put great strain on priests asked to convert and perform last rights on so many victims. "Oui, le Cholera a ete tres fort ici a Rome. Mais c'a ete un fleau et misericorde. De grands exemples et vertu- et de grandes conversions de beaucoup de personnes au lit de la mort. Nos Peres ont assiste jour et nuit, a eux seuls ils en auront assiste bien trois mille."
