Book also shows other payments like "tipping" for enslaved laborers such as Gabriel (e.g., "for weeding in the garden in time of recreation," April 22, 1822; October 14, 1824; January 26, 1825) and travelling expenses to and from Maryland plantations (April 20, 1821; September 22, 1822; October 1, 1822; October 23, 1822)....
