Scope and Contents
No index is present. Includes letters to the Maryland Provincial and Vice Provincial and to the Rector General in Rome (in Latin). Letters to the Maryland Provincial relate mainly to curricular issues and personnel assignments, for example: dated March 4, 1893 includes a statement on the proposed addition to the Medical School building and listing of the debt on the College New Building (Healy Hall), the new Law Building and the Medical Building, as well as a statement of current financial assets and liabilities.
Letters to parents explaining the circumstances under which their sons have been expelled are also present, as is a letter dated February 1, 1894 to the Apostolic Delegate Francesco Satolli stating that “Mr. Hamilton is positive that such a transfer [of Georgetown’s Medical and Law Departments to Catholic University] is altogether impossible.”
