Letters from Teilhard de Chardin to Diane de Margerie. Includes printed articles by and about Teilhard de Chardin. Four offprints bear inscriptions by Teilhard to Ambassador Roland de Margerie and his wife Jenny Fabre-Luce, parents of Diane de Margerie.

Diane de Margerie (b.1927), is a French writer and translator.

Scope and Contents note The Granger - Teilhard de Chardin Collection consists of seventeen letters from Teilhard to Dr. Walter Granger of the American Museum of Natural History, plus one letter to Roy Chapman Andrews, scientist and explorer.The letters contain detailed accounts of Teilhard's paleological findings and scientific research, and his comments on the findings and writings of others in the field. Collection-level Scope and Content Note This collection consists of 18 letters written by Rev. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin to a French acquaintance, Mme. R.J. Houdin. In January 1986, Mme. Houdin gave the letters to Rev. Pierre Leroy, S.J., friend and fellow Jesuit of Teilhard de Chardin. She died not many years after, on September 25, 1989. The Raphael - Teilhard de Chardin Collection consists of thirty-seven letters, a manuscript drawing, two typed manuscripts, and a number of offprints on evolution and anthropology, all from the collection of Mrs. Francoise Raphael, an old friend of Teilhard from his early days in China. There is also a folder of black-and-white photographs.
