Includes offprints of monographs by Leroy and Teilhard de Chardin. Also letters from French explorer and spiritualist Alexandra David-Neel (1868-1969) and Emmanuel de Breuvery, SJ (1906-1970).

Collection-level Scope and Content Note

The Constantin Kluge - Pierre Leroy collection consists of 34 personal, autograph signed letters from Father Leroy to his friend Constantin Kluge, in addition to first-hand background information provided by Kluge on his acquaintance with Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and his circle (especially Pierre Leroy and Claude Riviere). A complete typed transcription of the 34 letters has been graciously provided by Mme. Solange Soulie, a close friend of Pierre Leroy.

Collection-level Scope and Content Note The collection consists of correspondence to Pierre Leroy, S.J., from his long-time friend paleontologist and theologian Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, as well as from mutual friends such as George Barbour, Lucile Swan, Helmut and Rhoda de Terra, Marguerite Teillard-Chambon (cousin of Teilhard de Chardin), as well as Teilhard's biographer Mary Lukas. Letters from Teilhard de Chardin to Diane de Margerie. Includes printed articles by and about Teilhard de Chardin. Four offprints bear inscriptions by Teilhard to Ambassador Roland de Margerie and his wife Jenny Fabre-Luce, parents of Diane de Margerie.

Diane de Margerie (b.1927), is a French writer and translator.

Materials pertaining to Pierre Leroy, SJ, particularly relating to his book: "Un chemin non trace: Jesuite au XX siecle" (1992). Includes letters from Abbe Breuil, photographs of Leroy, and an early copy of "La messe sur le monde" by Teilhard de Chardin.
