Welch, SJ Papers consist primarily of near-continuous family correspondence from the beginning of his studies at St. Andrew’s Preparatory Seminary in Rochester (1920) through the end of his Jesuit ministry in the Philippines (1990). In addition to documenting his formation and work in the Society of Jesus, the collection also includes materials relating to his internment in the Japanese-occupied Philippines during World War II.
