Scope and Contents

Typed lists of alumni broken down by state and by country. The lists are further broken down by town. Addresses, occupations, and dates of graduation are given for each alum listed. Alums from the 1880s to the 1920s are included.

Scope and Contents In the 19th century, it was customary for the Georgetown President to examine each candidate for admission into the College and to record in this series of ledgers the terms of admission. The content varies over time but can include class assignments, the name of the person paying student expenses, any special arrangements for tuition payments, a listing of extra classes to be given, and a mention of items brought to school, such as spoon and bedding. Two books, with indexes, arranged in alphabetical order. One contains addresses within Washington, D.C., the other addresses outside. Many of the addresses seem to to be for alumni. These volumes were possibly compiled for generating invitation lists to the Centennial celebration in 1889.
