Abstract

The collection contains documents related to U.S. bioethics commissions and other federal agencies that belonged to Barbara F. Mishkin. This includes the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research, the Ethics Advisory Board, the President’s Commission for the Study of Ethical Problems in Medicine and Biomedical and Behavioral Research Records, and the Office of Technology Assessment.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Leo and Jane Codd Papers contain correspondence to the Codds, photographs, and manuscripts. Correspondence, manuscripts, and related material is arranged alphabetically within the collection. The Codds lived in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C., and enjoyed travelling, especially to Ireland. Much of their correspondence from friends and acquaintances refers to their trips to Ireland or to their hospitality and cordiality when guests visited them in Washington.The papers...

Scope and Contents note From the Collection:

The Rogers Family Papers consist of fifteen series, the first being on the Rogers & Clarke families in general, and the remainder focusing on the papers of individuals such as James Webb Rogers I, J. Harris Rogers, James Charles Rogers, Cora Rogers Clarke, Phillips H. Clarke Jr., Mae Harris Clarke and George E. Sullivan. The final series contains objects and oversize materials of varying types.
