Leo O'Donovan (1934-) consist of his published and unpublished writings; teaching materials for classes at Fordham University, Union Theological Seminary, Weston School of Theology, and Woodstock College; and papers related to Jesuit theologian Karl Rahner.

Joseph P. Orme Papers

Collection-level Scope and Content Note

The collection contains eight autograph letters written by Georgetown College alumni to fellow alumus, Joseph P. Orme, between the years 1856 and 1860. The content of the letters range from catching up on news of friends and family to serious political debate. The opinions written by these young men display the divided state of the nation on the brink of civil war. Of the seven friends, at least three went on to fight in the war, two for the Union and one for the Confederacy.

Found in Notes:  He joined the Federal Service and was a Colonel and Aide-de-camp on the staff of the Governor of Maryland.

Papers of Menc S. Szmczak (1894-1978), relating to his long career on the Federal Reserve Board from 1933 to 1961. Included are manuscripts of speeches and articles, as well as press releases and newspaper clippings.

Collection-level Scope and Content Note The Washington Irving Letterbook (1 box, 0.25 linear feet) consists of one bound letterbook containing handwritten copies of outgoing letters dated from 1842 to 1844 written by Irving (1783-1859) while he served as U.S. Minister to Spain (1842-1846). Although most of these letters were copied in the hand of Irving's secretary, a number of them seem to have been copied by Irving himself in his own hand.
