Scope and Contents

A bound manuscript on paper, c. 1700, containing an unidentified Italian life of Pope Sixtus V. The text is written by a single hand in a neat cursive script. Volume retains its original binding of vellum over board, featuring a stained spine label with the title stamped in gilt. The binding is now somewhat stained and the boards warped, but this does not compromise legibility.
