A bound manuscript on paper of the 18th or 19th century containing a Passover Haggadah of the Yemeni rite, with liturgy in Hebrew and instruction in Judeo-Arabic. The text is somewhat condensed, and contains a high number of abbreviations in the Hebrew. Catchwords are present throughout, including on the final page, suggesting that the volume may be incomplete -- though the last prayer recorded here, the Nishmat, is usually found at the conclusion of the Passover seder or ceremonial meal....

Text in black ink with decoration and rubrication in red, including a highly decorative border at the beginning. The paper quality is mixed and there is significant staining and other damage throughout, though legibility is not compromised.

Following the death of her son Tanguy Tolila-Croissant, Adrienne Croissant--a graduate in philosophy and anthropology--eventually called upon Teilhard's spiritual support beginning in 1946. Her son Tanguy had been a student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris who joined the Organisation civile et militaire (OCM) in 1943.
