Scope and Contents Francis Beeston (1751-1809) was born in Lincolnshire, England, and entered the Society of Jesus at Ghent in 1771. After the Suppression, he was at the seminary in Liege before emigrating to the US in 1786. He was at Bohemia Manor beginning in 1790 and eventually assigned to Old St. Joseph's (Philadelphia) and made rector of the cathedral in Baltimore, where he remained until his death in 1809.
