Papers of longtime Georgetown University professor of history Carroll Quigley (1910-1977), including research and lecture notes, correspondence, manuscripts, Georgetown teaching materials, documents from Harvard and Princeton, and printed materials. Manuscripts of his books are retained, such as “Tragedy and Hope,” “Evolution of Civilizations,” “Weapons Systems and Political Stability,” and “The Anglo-American Establishment.”
The Russell B. Shaw Papers comprise 4.5 linear feet consisting of 43 folders arranged in three boxes. The papers consist almost exclusively of manuscripts of eight books written by Shaw and two books co-authored by C. A. Koob and Germain Grisez.
Mainly brochures. Also includes newsletters and other printed material.
The Neil J. Twombly, SJ Papers contain notes and pedagogical materials for the study of Classics; spiritual writings; correspondence and photographs; a travel diary; and recognitions.
The James A. Ward, SJ Papers consist of journals, spiritual and other writings, materials related to his teaching career, and correspondence.
The Edward Holker Welch, SJ Papers contain personal journals as well as both spiritual and secular writings.
The Bernardin F. Wiget, SJ Papers contain one letter from Fr. Angelo Paresce (1852) and six bound volumes of school notes and lectures, mostly those of Fr. Joseph Duverney, taken by Fr. Wiget while at Georgetown (1847-1850).
The Stephen X. Winters, SJ Papers includes correspondence, school notes, articles he published in the Messenger of the Sacred Heart, and photographs.
