Scope and Contents note The Raphael - Teilhard de Chardin Collection consists of thirty-seven letters, a manuscript drawing, two typed manuscripts, and a number of offprints on evolution and anthropology, all from the collection of Mrs. Francoise Raphael, an old friend of Teilhard from his early days in China. Content Description Correspondence, memoranda, minutes, printed material and photographs concerning Phillips Temple's national chairmanship of "Catholic Book Week" in February, 1949. The program was sponsored annually by the Catholic Library Association to "stimulate the reading and writing of Catholic literature in various forms." Temple served as librarian of Riggs Memorial Library at Georgetown University from 1937 to 1954.
