Scope and Contents
This series consists of materials related to the Center for Clinical Research Ethics (CCRE) at Vanderbilt University. Zaner was the founder of the CCRE and its director from 1982 until his retirement in 2001. The CCRE administered the Clinical Ethics Consultation Service for the hospitals and clinics at Vanderbilt and Saint Thomas Hospitals; offered joint medicine and ethics program through the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine; and promoted research projects by students and faculty. This series includes materials related to the administration of the CCRE including funding proposals, research grants, writing and research, undergraduate and graduate courses, and subject files. It also includes materials related to courses taught by faculty of the CCRE. Materials related to courses taught by Zaner or for which Zaner was a guest lecturer are in Series 3: Teaching.
