Scope and Contents

The series contains materials that belonged to André E. Hellegers, the founding director of the Kennedy Institute of Ethics (KIE). Of note is a 1967 proposal to establish an Institute of Human Reproduction at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, submitted to the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation in 1967. Additionally, it contains a letter from Paul Ramsey regarding a visiting professor position at Georgetown University from the same year. The series also contains correspondence and other files related to the KIE in the 1970s.

Unpublished Georgetown University administrative records may be consulted only with the permission of the University office which created it. This includes administrative records and courses files found in boxes 1-4.
