Volume Reese

Scope and Contents A small oblong manuscript volume of songs dated July 20, 1847 made by Thomas Reese, a member of a Marshalltown, Pennsylvania band. Apparently a clarinet, cornet, and possibly fife player, the tunes are mostly marches and quicksteps, including The Star-Spangled Banner, Washington’s March, Hail Columbia, Yankee Doodle, the Boston Quick Step, and the Red, White, and Blue.
