Scope and Contents A commonplace book created by British aristocrat and artist Lady Caroline Elizabeth Mary Stuart-Wortley, Baroness Wharncliffe in the first quarter of the 19th century. The contents are a mix of verses and other short writings, some copied from other sources, accompanied by newsclippings and various ephemera that have been tipped into the volume, as well as several drawings and watercolors by Lady Caroline herself.
