James A. Doonan (1841-1911) went to Georgetown College and later entered the Society of Jesus in 1857. After being a professor of poetry at the university (1878-1882) he became president (1882-1888). Scope and Contents Francis Dzierozynski (1779-1850) was born in Orsha, Russia (now Belarus), and entered the Society of Jesus in 1794. After being ordained in 1806 he was a teacher in Polotskand Mogilev until the expulsion of the Jesuits from the Russian Empire in 1820. Scope and Contents Joseph Enders (1806-1884) was born in Bavaria and ordained as a diocesan priest in 1831. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1836 and came to the US with Fr. Anthony Rey in 1840. Scope and Contents Edward Fenwick (1768-1832) was born in St. Mary's County, Maryland, and was sent to the Dominican Holy Cross College in Bornem, Belgium, in 1784.
