His notes reference the 1838 sale of more than 300 enslaved persons from Jesuit plantations (p. 200) and also lists enslaved persons held by Jesuit estates according to the 1790 census (p. 191). Further, he discusses how after John Ashton's death in 1815, Wilfrid Manning and George Jenkins were called upon by Rev. Notley Young to "fix a price" on eleven enslaved people owned by Ashton.
