Scope and Contents Approximately 150 letters sent to and from military officer Sir Francis Howard and his daughter Majorie Howard. The bulk of the correspondence (well over 100 items) are love letters written from Francis to Gertrude Boyd before and after their marriage in 1895, while the remainder are from Francis to his father, Sir Henry Francis Howard (1809-1898), from Marjorie to her mother, or to Francis from various acquaintances.
