Letters concern: “conditions” for students entering Georgetown, including tuition in gourdes, a Haitian currency (1820, in French); a debt for $449 owed by a family in New Iberia, Louisiana (1826, in French); the miraculous cure of Sister Stanislaus of breast cancer (written to Henry Daingerfield of Alexandria, 1838); the religious studies of John Roach of Alexandria (written to Roach, from Italy, 1842).
