Historical Note
The Seine Section was a territorial administrative and logistical command within the Communications Zone (Com Z) of the European Theater of Operations, United States Army (ETOUSA). Originally organized in London as the Central Base Section under the command of Brigadier General Pleas B. Rogers, the unit was formally activated as the Seine Section on August 23, 1944, following the Allied advance toward Paris.
Operating under Army Post Office (APO) 887, Headquarters Seine Section was stationed in Paris and held responsibility for military administration, supply distribution, transportation management, and local security within the Seine Department and surrounding areas. The section managed supply depots, transit facilities, and municipal coordination until the postwar restructuring of Theater Service Forces in 1945.
