Scope and Contents

Contains letters of congratulation to Edmund A. Walsh, S.J., on the occasion of his Golden Jubilee in the Jesuit Order. Included are letters from: Apostolic Delegate Archbishop Amleto Giovanni Cicognani; former students Francisco C. Banda, Edwin W. Beitzell, H. V. Dreyhausen, M. J. "Jack" Heiler, George A. Horkan, Al. Phlip Kane, John McShain, Meyer Tsatskis (Taske), and Arthur A. Verner; Major General William E. Bergin; Dean of Columbia Graduate School of Journalism Edward W. Barrett; President of the Carnegie Institution Vannevar Bush; Margaret Draper Boncompagni; John G. Bowen; Boyd Carpenter; James E. Colliflower; Vice Admiral H. W. Hill; FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover; Francis Cardinal Spellman; and Brigadier General Millard C. Young. Also present are clippings, a program from the testimonial dinner, and the text of a toast from Francis E. Lucey, S.J.

Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.
