Scope and Contents

Primarily comprised of promotional ephemera related to the Booker Prize (1984, 1989, 1991, 1997-1998) and the Russian Booker Prize (1994-1997). Of note is an autographed photograph of Ben Okri and an illustrated broadside with an excerpt from The Famished Road.

Also includes three VHS recordings related to the 1998 Booker Prize (ceremony, discussion, and "shorts") and a "Handlist of Exhibitors Introduced by Lawrence Durrell" at the Fifth Antiquarian Book Fair in London (1962).

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Immediate source of acquisition unknown for the bulk of the collection is unknown. The materials were likely purchased between 2000 and 2020.

Ben Okri and Lawrence Durrell materials were purchased from Quill and Brush with the Healy Fund in 2025.
