James Laver Papers
Scope and Contents
Personal papers of James Laver (1899-1975), author and Keeper of Department of Engraving, Illustration and Design and Department of Paintings at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, England. Correspondence to Laver and wife, actress Veronica Turleigh (1903-1971), provide a valuable source on English and Irish literary circles. Writers include Enid, Bagnold, John Betjeman, Violet Clifton, Martin d'Arcy, Graham Greene, Kate O'Brien, Iris Origo, Ronald Knox, Desmond MacCarthy, Rose MacCaulay, Alec and Evelyn Waugh, Vita Sackville-West, and Enid Starkie, among others.

Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections.
