Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.
The Federation of Citizens Associations of the District of Columbia was founded in 1910 and incorporated in 1940. The organization promotes activism by citizens in the nation's capital. It pulls together multiple groups to advocate for various political and economic goals. Some of the accomplishments of the Federation include the Public Utilities Commission, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, the D.C. Rent Administration, Small Claims Court, hospital procedures with respect to newborn babies and their protection from contagious diseases, and legislation pertaining to Schools. Representatives of the Federation advocated for representation of the District in Congress and the privilege of voting in a federal election.
