Audio tapes

File — Box: 59, Box: Index card file box

Scope and Contents

Audio recordings in the Bergen Papers are found on standard cassettes and microcassettes. In addition to a set of 11 cassetes containing Bergen's reading of "Holy War, Inc.", are four standard cassettes: Tape 2 of 3 of Peter Bergen's Radio Media Tour for "The Osama bin Laden I Know"; "Under the Shades of Swords… Stories of Foreign Mujahideen killed in Bosnia", 1997; "Defending Sheik Omar & Jihad", by Abu Hamza; and "Never Feel Sorry for Wicked America", by Abu Hamza. Microcassettes in the collection contain original interviews, most of which are from living subjects and therefore remain under restriction. These interviews which are available to researchers are: Mullah Abdul Samad Khakshar; Belgian jihadist Malika El Aroud; Jamal Khashoggi; and Essam Deraz. All of the open audiotape recordings are found in the index card file box in Box 59.
