Scope and Contents
Primarily interview transcripts, court transcripts and documentary evidence, used in Bergen’s research to trace the history of al-Qaeda’s founding, etc., material related to al-Qaeda prior to the 9/11 attacks, documents regarding the founding and early activity of al-Qaeda, including in the states of Sudan and Somalia, primarily interview and court transcripts and supporting documents. Contains transcripts and production related records of broadcast documentaries on al-Qaeda's operations in the U.S. and research material related to these (History Channel's "Road to 9/11", 2017, and CNN's "Terror Nation", 1994). Includes interviews conducted in Afghanistan and Pakistan related to the 1993 WTC bombing, victims of U.S. cruise missle strikes, and the Kahane assassination, as well as declassified FBI documents, court records, Pakistani newspapers and other news articles / interviews related to: Ali Abdul Saoud Mohamed (al-Qaeda operative); Sheikh Omar-Abdel Rahman; Khaled Ibrahim; Moustafa Shalabi; Wadi El-Hage (Osama bin Laden's secretary); Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, and documents related to al-Qaeda/Taliban relations pre-9/11.
