Some songs are pro-Confederate patriotic tunes, including a 1st edition of the Maryland state song "Maryland, My Maryland." Song selection differs significantly from Isabel Crichton's volume.
Most title pages are signed and dated by Jessie Crichton; dates range from 1860 to 1863.
