Antiphonary, bound music manuscript, 111 pages, possibly England, circa 1760

 Item — Volume: English Antiphonary

Scope and Contents

Title page labelled "Vespers &c." Pages 112-132 have staves and occasional headings only (i. e., no music or lyrics); pages 133-152 are completely blank. Possesses contemporary parchment page marker/pointer.
Multiple pages have "Strasburg Lily" watermarks and at least one bears the initials of the Dutch papermaker Lubertus van Gerrevink, suggesting the item possibly originated in the Low Countries, perhaps made by or for a religious house of English Recusants. However, Gerrevink's mark has been found on English-made paper, so the item's locus of creation remains uncertain.
