There was more than one Eliza Wagstaff active in the musical communities of 19th century England. The creator of this manuscript was likely the one whose obituary ran in the Limerick Chronicle, June 6, 1846, where she was described as "a vocalist well known at the Royal Academy of Music, and professor of singing at Leamington." Another Eliza Wagstaff was named as a multiple prize-winner in a songwriting contest in the May 1, 1906 issue of Musical Times.
