Scope and Contents
VHS tape entitled "The Horace McKenna Tapes," a 60 minute video that includes a final version of "Priest of the Poor" as well as a pilot for the program and field tapes. The field tapes include McKenna being interviewed, scenes from the St. Vincent de Paul Society, So Other Might Eat (SOME), and House of Ruth. The video was produced by Martin Doblmeier.
Hines incorporated quotations from Doblmeier's work in drafts of what would eventually become "Christ Is with the Poor: Stories and Sayings of Horace McKenna, S.J." (1989), although none were included in the final version.
