A black and white photograph of then-first lady Jackie Kennedy, likely taken during her summer 1961 trip to Greece. She is wearing a white suit, smiling, and standing next to a black car, accompanied by a man who may be a bodyguard. A stamp on the back in Greek indicates that this is a press photo dated 1961.

Biographical / Historical
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (1929-1994) was an American socialite, writer, and first lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963 during the presidency of her first husband John F. Kennedy (1917-1963). Following her husband’s assassination in 1963, Kennedy largely withdrew from the public eye, and in 1968 she married Aristotle Onassis, a Greek shipping magnate. After his death in 1975, she had a career as a book editor in New York City.
