H.P. Collins, 1920 - 1973
Scope and Contents
28 pieces of correspondence addressed to the British author and historian H.P. Collins, dated 1920-1973. The majority of the collection, 11 letters, are in the hand of the author, critic, and art historian James Laver, at that time Keeper of Prints, Drawings, and Paintings for the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. 3 letters from literary critic and poet Hugh l’Anson Fausset are accompanied by copies also in his hand of what appear to be references for Collins, recommending him for a place on an editorial board of some kind, as well as 6 additional letters from journalist and historian George Gooch. Finally, 3 single letters, one from author Louis Wilkinson, and two from unidentified correspondents, are also present.

Conditions Governing Access
Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. Biographical / Historical
Harold Poulton Collins (b. 1901) was a British critic, writer, and sometime editor of The Adelphi literary journal. He is noted for his 1925 critical overview of contemporary poetry, Modern Poetry.
