Arthur Warren, Late 19th century-1924
Scope and Contents
Approximately 130 notes, letters and documents belonging to London-based theater critic Arthur Warren, the majority of which is correspondence from famous actors, writers, painters, and journalists. Correspondents include poet, critic, and Cambridge academic Edmund Gosse (1849-1928), West End Shakespearean star Dame Madge Kendall (1848-1935), American illustrator and “Gibson Girl” creator Charles Dana Gibson (1867-1944), and American novelist and newspaperman Isaac Henderson. Also included are various ephemera ranging from papers relating to membership in various societies to financial documents. A curatorial file created by Scheetz is also included.

Conditions Governing Access
Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.

Arthur Warren (1860-1924) was an American journalist and writer who spent part of his career as the London correspondent for the Boston Herald.
