Scope and Contents
A collection of correspondence from the papers of Oxford academic W.G. Moore, including approximately 30 pamphlets and off-prints with accompanying letters from colleagues, several recommendation requests with carbon copies of Moore’s replies, and a variety of miscellaneous letters, notes, and ephemera all from the 1950s through 1970s.

Conditions Governing Access
Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.
Biographical / Historical
Will Grayburn Moore (July 24, 1905- February 22, 1978) was a British scholar of romance languages, most famous for his work on Molière. During WWII, he served in the Foreign Office Research Department, but spent the bulk of his career at St. Johns, Oxford as a Fellow, Tutor, and Reader. Moore edited Modern Language Review, and was a founder and general editor of Studies in French Literature.
