Eton Speeches, 1797 - 1802
Scope and Contents
17 handwritten documents that appear to be copies of various speeches and/or lecture notes in Latin from Eton College, England. Those that are dated range from 1797-1802. Each document has a name at the top left, presumably that of the speaker, including Heath (George Heath, Headmaster of Eton, 1792-1802) and Thackeray (possibly scholar and bibliophile George Thackeray, Assistant Master of Eton, 1801-1814). Several other names that appear in the documents (Browning, Sargent, Wagner, Gandy, Hinde) also have Eton associations.
