Scope and Contents
A small collection of materials related to Irish poet Padraic Colum. Three typed and signed letters, and two telegrams addressed to the architectural historian Anthony Garvan (1917-1992). One spiral-bound notebook containing chapter five of an unknown manuscript. All materials dated 1937, with the exception of one letter. A printed slip of paper included with the materials indicates they were once part of Garvan’s own archive.

Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Biographical / Historical
Padriac Colum (1881-1972) was an Irish poet, playwright, novelist, biographer, and folklorist most well-known for his collections of myths and legends for children, and as a leading figure in the Irish Literary Revival.
