Duncan L. Colquhoun, 1942 - 1945

 File — Box: 9

Scope and Contents

Approximately 150 letters written by Patricia “Pat” Colquhoun (née Rawson) to her fiance and subsequently husband, Lieutenant Duncan L. Colquhoun of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 154 Infantry Brigade during the Second World War. The letters begin prior to their marriage in March of 1944 and continue until just a few days before his death in February of 1945. The letters, at times written almost daily, document Pat’s life as a nurse during wartime and express her anxieties, hopes, and wishes for the future. Also included are four letters and documents addressed to Colquhoun from other sources, as well as 3 letters of condolence to Pat upon Duncan’s death. Xeroxed information from the auction where Scheetz purchased the collection is available.
