Scope and Contents

Memos and routing/ transmittal slips regarding approaches to censorship. Two memos by Karl Burger, Publications Section, Munich Detatchment, regarding "Index Problems" and objections to specific authors, with attached report in German by Erich Schumacher, "Aussprache über die "Index"-Listen" (Debate on the "Index" lists), giving constructive criticism of the book index sytem; an initial or example Index list; a list of poets (identified as blacklisted authors in marginal note by Hans-Joachim Goltz) who contributed to a volume memorializing Hitler as Führer, edited by Karl Hans Bühner; a list of authors of undetermined status, dated June 14, 1945; memo by Alex Stimmelmayr to OMGUS dated November 3, 1945 regarding his activity as an author, with routing slip.
