Scope and Contents

Contains background materials for the OSS Oral History Project, conducted from 1996 to 1997. Includes drafts and final versions of the project proposal, terms of reference, and deed of gift form; correspondence between project director Dr. Christof Mauch and interviewees, other project scholars, and Dr. Kay Oliver, Chief Historian at the Central Intelligence Agency; photograph collections submitted by interviewees; and invoices, receipts, and checks re project expenses. Divided into folders, organized by document type.

Conditions Governing Access

Only approved transcripts may be scanned, photographed, or otherwise copied. Unedited transcripts and interview recordings may be accessed by appointment in our reading room. Researchers may take notes while accessing unedited transcripts and interview recordings, but are not allowed to quote or transcribe directly from the interviews.

Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.
