Scope and Contents

Three autograph statements signed by Jesuit missionaries certifying they will obey the rules of the papal bull Ex illa die issued by Pope Clement XI forbidding the practices known as Chinese Rites. Statement 1 signed by Josephus Dinh and written in Vietnamese; statements 2 and 3 signed by Jean-Baptiste Maigrot and Hieronymus of St. Philip Neri and written in Latin. Accession: 150727.
